Veronica is kind, funny and fearless. She will do anything for the people she loves. But breast cancer can scare the daylights out of even the bravest person.
Like many women, her journey began with a lump. When she was informed she had an abnormal biopsy in mid-August 2016, she described it as one of the worst days of her life—filled with fear, anxiety and uncertainty. After numerous tests, biopsies and even a misdiagnosis, Veronica finally received a life-changing prognosis: she would need a lumpectomy and aggressive chemo, followed by radiation and ten years of hormone therapy for the best odds of living a long, healthy life.
Veronica’s chemo began in mid-December and took a toll on her, both physically and emotionally. Next up is 30 rounds of radiation. Going to work every day is simply not an option right now.
We have started this page to help support Veronica’s recovery. All donations will go directly to her and help with medical expenses, food, transport to and from the hospital and necessities while she's not working.
Veronica may have lost her hair, the feeling in her fingertips, sometimes her focus and short-term memory, but she has not lost her positive outlook and personal strength, her sense of humor nor her sense of self-worth.
