My name is Christine Hall and I served as the Associated Students Incorporated Vice President (2012-13) and ASI President (2013-14). In conjunction with former ASI President, Chris Osuala (2012-13) and former ASI Attorney General Devon Graves (2012-13), we created this GoFundMe Campaign to help an individual who has helped us tremendously throughout the years - Vicki Jackson.
If you think back to your time in ASI, you may think about budgets, meetings, speeches and programs. But one thing most of us will never forget is the impact that Vicki Jackson had on our experiences in ASI, and quite frankly, our lives. Throughout all of her years and various administrations, she has been an essential resource to the Cal Poly Pomona community. She continues to inspire students to get involved, stay true to themselves, and constantly learn and grow as leaders and individuals.
During the ASI Graduations, most of us thanked Vicki for her wisdom, guidance, and willingness to help. Now WE have the chance and privilege to lend a helping hand to Vicki.
Recently, Vicki's eldest daughter, Kristine, was diagnosed with stage four cancer. This news is tragic for anyone to receive. But as always, Vicki has approached this new challenge in her life with positivity, proactivity, and a strength that many of us aspire to have. As you can imagine, with this recent discovery there is an extreme financial burden placed on the family. As former student leaders appreciative of all that Vicki has done to shape our lives, Chris, Devon and I feel that student leaders can come together and show Vicki how much we appreciate her by supporting her and her family during this challenging time. We have set a goal to raise $11,000 to donate to Vicki and her family to help relieve them of some of the medical expenses they have now incurred. Please donate any amount that you can - all donations are greatly appreciated. Please also send your positive thoughts and prayers for the Jackson family.
