My name is Victoria Ramirez; I am currently attending the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL, and pursuing a Biochemistry major with aspirations of becoming a Forensic Scientist.
I graduated from Pine Ridge High School, Summa Cum Laude, earned more than 30+college credits and was in the top 7% of my class.
As a minority with limited financial resources to pay for a college education, having received an acceptance letter from Bright Futures awarding a full scholarship to USF was a blessing.
The scholarship symbolized the hard work and dedication I put forth pursuing my dreams and aspirations.
As a result of the administrative oversight in Florida, many college students, including myself, have had their Bright Futures scholarships retracted and left with the inability to pay for college tuition.
I remain optimistic and hope to obtain the support of my friends and family to help contribute towards my college tuition.
