Vilma Guerrero's path to victory

Hello, this is Isabella and Sophie, Vilma Guerrero's daughters. We are creating a fundraising site in hopes of helping ease the financial burden our family will be experiencing following our mother's recent pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Our mom has already undergone a few procedures and a surgery immediately after the diagnosis to help prepare her body for chemotherapy as well as other tests and procedures that are in the near future.

Our mom and dad, Conrad, received the news the first day of spring break. None of us were prepared for it or knew how to handle it. Our initial plans of a road-trip to tour a college Isabella is interested in, had to be put on hold. Our family is expecting some big changes, starting with an upcoming move to college for Isabella, as well as moving out of our childhood home this summer. We’ve done our best to handle these challenges as a family, and we are so blessed to have incredible friends who are offering lots of support. However, as we find out more during all the appointments, we realize that we need some help. Our mom has worked in the West Linn-Wilsonville school district for many years. She started by volunteering at our schools, and in 2010 started working as a para educator at Boeckman Creek in Wilsonville. She is currently an administrative assistant at Boones Ferry. She has worked with elementary children in the West Linn-Wilsonville school district for years now and has loved every minute of it.

Our mom is incredibly loved, and not just by her family. We are constantly being told what a light and joy she is by coworkers and friends and we always hear people speaking highly of her. Our mom has such a big heart. You can usually find her making a meal for someone in need, or making her infamous salsa verde just to make someone feel better. Our mom has touched a lot of people’s hearts which has resulted in an army of support and love. Our beautiful mama has shaped us into who we are today. It was she who taught us how to enjoy the little things in life, taught us our love for hiking and sunsets, taught us that a little kindness goes a long way in life.

We have faith in God and we are incredibly thankful for our friends and family. This journey will be long and strenuous but our mom can handle it. We believe in the power of prayer, and your prayers are valuable to us and we thank you for them. We ask for your continued love and support as we get through this together.
