Memorial Fund for Vincent Kapoi, Jr.

Vincent J. Kapoi, Jr., was taken from this world unexpectedly when a U.S. Navy Sailor who used his service M4 Rifle in a shooting that killed, Vincent Kapoi, Jr. and Roldan Augustin. The U.S. Navy Sailor then turned his M9 Pistol to kill himself at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard on December 4, 2019.


Vince is taken away from his newly wedded wife who shared, “I've been through a lot of tragedy in my life, but nothing compares to losing the love of your life! I will miss you truly, and I will always love you Vincent J. Kapoi Jr. May we all find peace when we find out more about this tragic senseless incident at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.”


Vince also was taken from his ʻOhana that is so much shock and saddened by this tragedy. Vince's parents, his sisters and brother, aunties, uncles, grandmother, many cousins and friends will never be the same.

"My Cuzzin Vinny Boy was probably the most humble, self-less, hardest worker, quiet and funny of all us cousins in our generation. I can't believe that we had him taken away from our ʻOhana like this. In such a cowardly way, by this dishonorable U.S. Navy soldier! Only weakness I see in that... I will do all I can to bring Vince the justice he deserves and some type of closure for our whole family." -Sam Kapoi.


Vince grew up in Waiʻanae, graduated from Kamehameha Schools - Kapālama Campus and his last place of employment was at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.

All funds raised is for his Wife in this trying time, since Vince was the main source of income, and was taken away instantly. This will give her some type of stability until things get more stable.

Vince's family seeks justice of this senseless act of violence and expects answers from the U.S. Government.
