It’s that time of the year again to start our campaign for the children of Grand Boulage, Haïti for the 2019-2020 academic school year. Your donation will help send over 400 children to school. Your support will be appreciated.
We Care Charitable Foundation (WCCF) is a nonprofit organization founded in Chicago in 2002 in order to make lasting improvements in the lives of children living in poverty in Grand Boulage, Haiti. WCCF specifically works in raising financial support, in-kind donations, and finding sponsorship for these kids. The monetary donations we receive pay for annual tuition, books, uniforms, and daily hot lunches for the students. Grand Boulage is a small village located northwest of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, between the cities of Tomazo and Mirbalais. It has a population of 2,000 with 70% of the people under the age of 17. The village has no running water and the people often have to travel miles to retrieve water for their basic needs. For the past 17 years, WCCF has organized a “Christmas Dreams Come True” party for the village, where members of the We Care Team and supporters spend the day with the kids and bring them clothes, food, toys, and special treats. It has become an annual event that undoubtedly brings comfort and joy to the members of the community. Fr. Roland Francois is the Pastor/Administrator of the parish and school in Grand Boulage. He serves as the liaison between WCCF and the people of Grand Boulage. With his help, we are able to continuously expand our relationship with the people of this village.
