WWII Veteran Carl Molter is need of help
Donation protected
This is my Grandpa, Carl. He is 101 years old and one of the last surviving WW2 veterans who served in 5 campaigns, which included Normandy. A widower with decreasing cognitive and physical disabilities, we moved him into a memory care home in Frederick, MD September 2022. Not long into his residency, he met Charlotte, also a widower with decreasing cognitive and physical disabilities. They instantly formed a bond and became fast friends. In the last year, they are nearly inseparable. It's a companionship that keeps him going each day.
Unfortunately, Grandpa is now out of money. Our family doesn't have the funds to keep him in the facility beyond January. We have reached out to the VA, but that process could take a while. If we apply for Medicaid, he will have to be moved from where he is since they do not accept it. Which means, he'll lose Charlotte and the place he's called home for over a year. At 101, 102 in May, that will be extremely devastating to his well-being. Anyone who is familiar with this, knows that moving him, could easily end his will to live. So, we are reaching out to the world, hoping for a miracle, or at least enough money to cover his expenses until we have explored every other resource. His fees are about $11,000 per month, and we would be eternally grateful for any help. Perhaps you could share his story with others as well. Your kindness will help keep Carl where he is. Plus, keeping him and Charlotte together for as long as possible. Thank you and God Bless!
