Get employees of Northwoods in Nevis through the income loss
Donation protected
As an employee of the Northwoods grocery and cafe in Nevis, MN, we are in shock with the building fire. All of us employees are going to be in a tough transition period while all is straightened out and unemployment is processed, and/or new jobs are found if necessary.
Lost wage insurance will take time, and will not cover tips income. Unemployment will only cover about 1/4 of our normal incomes when you consider tip and overtime wages. Yes, we have already looked into these. We are considering short term employment as well but want to be available for John and Mary upon reopening and to assist where we can until then.
We all are saddened by this event and the community loss.
We all depended on the income and tips to pay bills and survive. So, to not take away from any fundraising efforts for the owners and their loss, we are starting our own.
We will miss the daily interactions with the community. But in the mean time, myself, Alexis, and Jenny could really use your support and help in getting through this tragedy.
As well as the owners of the business (please look for their GoFundMe as well and donate if you can. We all appreciate any effort.
