Ward 4 Mutual Aid Fund
Donation protected
We hope that everyone is keeping themselves and their loved ones healthy and practicing social distancing at this time.
Many of our neighbors, friends, and co-workers are struggling with the public health crisis and economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, more than ever, we must come together as a community to protect and care for each other. The Ward 4 Mutual Aid Fund will provide material support for neighbors throughout D.C.'s Ward 4. This effort is affiliated with D.C.'s Mutual Aid Network. To promote equity for mutual aid efforts across the city, funds may be shared with other wards.
Ward 4 Mutual Aid delivers approximately 40 care packages each day with fresh produce, pantry items, and meat and dairy items from our supply center in Brightwood. These deliveries provide a critical service seniors and those are at elevated risk during the pandemic, as well as those facing economic hardship right now. Mutual aid fills a critical gap in nutrition services, especially at this time of heightened need.
Neighbors who need groceries, supplies, or services call the Ward 4 hotline at [phone redacted]. Volunteers procure the needed supplies or groceries. Funds raised here are used for the purchase of supplies and food. Any donor can request receipts and financial records. (Note that records will never include identifying personal information).
We understand that many in our community are hurting right now with job loss and economic uncertainty. If you want to contribute but cannot do so financially, consider volunteering: https://tinyurl.com/uk9967d
