Help me reclaim my life

Hello my name is Warren Chang and I'm writing this because my life was recently turned upside down. What started out as one of the best years of my life ended with the most traumatic experience I could ever have imagined. Two weeks after celebrating my 40th birthday, I was involved in a freak accident.

Since 2021, weightlifting has been one of my greatest passions. It brought me friendships and a community where I felt welcomed and loved. During a routine training session, a barbell crashed down on my spine, fracturing vertebrae and causing me to lose sensation and control of my lower body. I am now paralyzed from the waist down.

My condition comes with many complications such as pressure wounds and loss of bladder and bowel control. Both of these require nursing care, medical supplies/equipment as well as extensive, ongoing rehabilitation.

This injury has not only affected me physically but emotionally as well. Days seem longer and life appears less colourful. Everyday is a rollercoaster of emotions where the highs don't feel very high but the lows feel like rock bottom.
