-Here’s Our Story-

When I returning to Waco in April ‘23 (after living Albuquerque for two years helping my family tend to the caregiving needs of our wonderful 93 year old Mother) I’d planned on finding a small place to live so I could continue serving in the place and with the people I’ve grown to love for many years. Once I Arrived I needed do the closing of my co-owned house. We sold it May’23. However, prior to the house closing unfortunate circumstances had came about placing my youngest daughter, Meredith and my five year old Grandson, Zion with no where to live since they had been living in our house for the past year and a half.

-Living with Oompa-
Of course I invited Meredith and Zion to live “Oompa” that’s what my G-Kids call me. So we began looking for a rental properties that were in the Midway ISD area where Zion has a familiar place to attend school. He’s been a student of Midway’s Special Populations Pre-K classes for his delayed speech development needs for the past three years. He’s shown Vast Improvement because of Midway’s educational efforts! Their a terrific team that are caring, compassionate and talented educator’s!

 -When it Rains-
About five months after moving into our rental home we began to face financial struggles. Sadly most of my “nest egg” had began to dwindle. During this time I was finding it difficult to get a job. In fact, I applied to numerous places but oddly I didn’t receive many offers and the positions that offered an interview didn’t hire me. Talk about a wake up call! Perhaps it’s age related. And then this happened… On the afternoon of Sunday April 7th I was about to do some yard work when I lost my balance while standing on the top step of the staircase on our front porch resulting in me falling to the ground and breaking my right hip!! OUCH!! I’ve never felt pain like that before in my entire life! It was excruciating!! I was on my back helpless, thankfully one of our neighbors heard me yelling for help and called 911. I was grateful and relieved to see our Speegleville volunteer paramedics arrive to take my vital signs and access damage from my fall and stayed with me until an ambulance arrived to transported me to the Baylor Scott & White Hospital emergency clinic where I was immediately admitted. Then in the ER exam room x-rays of my hip were taken. Once the X-Rays were viewed I was wheeled to their Level II Trauma Center to be stabilized. Early the next morning I was wheeled in to meet my orthopedic surgeon and surgical team where they performed a three hour surgery on me. They surgically attached two titanium prosthesis’ resembling the femoral ball and the hip socket. Once the surgery was completed, they had made my hip as good as new!!I then spent two weeks there doing extensive physical and occupational therapy. Everyone who treated me at BS&W was simply terrific!

-Here’s why we need help- (Transparency is very important to me, the amounts shown below are to explain our situation in detail.)
Sadly, I’m having difficulty meeting my monthly expenses because of the amount of time I’ve needed to recover from my surgery. I’m just now felling like I’m close to being 100% back. I am looking for a place to work to help us have a better outcome at end of each month. If you have any suggestions, please let me know by sending me a PM on messenger.

- By The Numbers-
Our monthly expenses total for rent, utilities, internet, auto insurance, grocery, medications, loans, gas, miscellaneous = $2,550. My current monthly income which is my Social Security = $1,681. Which is a monthly shortfall of $869 The total amount of my medical expenses are $6,780. Thank goodness for Medicare!! The total amount of my surgery and treatment that was billed to my Medicare account was $59,442.
Again, our GoFundMe account’s goal of $10,000 and has been carefully planned to first, get caught up on our monthly expenses as quickly as possible to begin paying off our medical expenses.

Thank you for your generous support and your well needed prayers!!
