Help 8yr old Cameron stay in his home.

I've had "temporary custody" of Cameron since 2015. His birthmother rarely called, visited and hadn't provided financially. Cobb county Dyfacs dropped all of their responsibility as soon as the papers were signed for custody. His birth mother has decided she wants him back. Her last visit before all of this was in Jan 2021. Her next visit wasn't until Dec. 2021.  She never consistently visited and gave very little financial support. He doesn't know her and doesn't want to live with her. He has a family that he loves and is a part of. He asked me to adopt him, and I'd love to do just that. I have other children that I adopted previously through foster care. However this is different because he isn't in foster care.  I was given temporary custody, but it's been almost 7 years. He wants to have the same name as the "his" family. The Thacker family. 

Cameron is having a hard time with all of this emotionally and mentally.  Imagine what goes through his 8yr old mind. He's been here for most of his life, and now he has the burden of not knowing whether he will remain with his family in his home, or go with someone that is really a stranger to him, just because she is biologically his mother. This isn't easy for any of us. We need your help to keep him in his home.
