Welcome to our fundraiser for the Wend Family as we navigate Josh’s stage 4 appendix cancer diagnosis.

A note from Josh:

"This all began when I felt a lump in my stomach and went to the doctor to get it checked out. My doctor seemed to be quite concerned and got me an appointment with a surgeon who requested I get a ct scan immediately. Upon seeing the results, he determined the mass had to be removed. They didn’t know exactly what it was other than it appeared to be a tumor. During the surgical removal of the tumor in mid-March, the doctor stated that he believed the tumor was cancerous as he identified spots and calcifications all over my intestines and stomach wall. The biopsy was sent to U of M and it was determined to be cancerous. I was then referred to an oncologist and after further review by the oncologist as well as Cleveland clinic, I was diagnosed with stage iv Appendiceal Adenocarcinoma, a very rare cancer of the appendix. I was given a prognosis of 6 months to live without intervention..."

As a family of 8, the juggling of everday bills, medical expenses and diet changes with decreased income, have brought about challenges. We are believing in the truth that God is our Healer and Provider. That he is a Holy and good God that withholds nothing from those who diligently seek him.

The last few weeks have been full of prayer, lots of research, and diet change. There are some treatment options available for his 1 in a million case. The most promising is a mix of traditional and holistic/immunotherapy remedies. Because it is not considered standard care, there is minimal insurance support. Please join our family in prayer and/or donate where you can.
