Winona’s Hospital Bills

Hello, my name is Taegan. My dog’s name is Winona and we need your help.

Winona needs emergency back surgery, her back legs stopped working out of nowhere. It was terrifying but I’m grateful I work at a vet office. My coworkers did everything they could to make her comfortable and try to figure out what happened. It was quickly realized that it was her back.

We transferred to Blue Pearl Emergency Hospital where she is undergoing an MRI, the quote for her surgery is around $6 grand. That doesn’t include any rehabilitation or drugs she may need.

Winona came to me through a grooming competition for shelter dogs. The idea was to groom the dogs so they could find new homes. Winona’s story broke my heart. She had been to many foster homes but no real homes in 4 years of her 5 year life. Nobody wanted her because she screams. You read that correctly. Sometimes it’s to show disdain for something you have or have not done. Other times she screams for seemingly no reason. I took her home with me.

She had no idea how to live in a family but after 3 years she’s a whole new dog. And not just because she’s pink. She’s confident and happy. She loves her people and we love her.

She’s had a lot of medical bills over the time I’ve had her. From eating things she shouldn’t to getting a vulvaplasty to help with infections. I’ve always done anything and everything I can for her.

Unfortunately because of how sudden and expensive this surgery will be I need help. She needs to get it as quickly as possible or else she could never walk again.

I love this dog. I know everyone loves their animals, but I really love this dog. She’s my best friend. We do everything together, she even comes to work with me every day.
