Sponsor a Chair at Woodhouse Community Centre

At Woodhouse Community Centre, we’re building a community space where everyone belongs and matters. We are a resource for all of the local community in LS6, offering groups and classes and activities, volunteering, and plenty more. Our popular Seva lunch club keeps people in Woodhouse and Little London fed on a Tuesday and Wednesday, plus we have English classes on a Thursday, Headspace mental health support group, room hire for local groups, and lots more.

Whether somebody’s visiting the centre to learn English, using our IT Suite to print off business cards or apply for Universal Credit, or playing ukulele in the men’s mental health group, everybody who uses Woodhouse Community Centre has one thing in common…

… they all need somewhere to sit.

This is where YOU come in.

Our old chairs have served us well, but they’re now approaching the end of their useful life. We want to buy new chairs that are lighter, more comfortable, and easier to move around the building. We also think our wonderful service users deserve to sit on nice seats! We’d use these chairs in our large hall, training rooms, and in the Doreen Tinker room, where 100+ people eat a tasty and nutritious PWYF breakfast and lunch every week.

We’re asking YOU to pledge to ‘sponsor a chair’ for yourself or a loved one. These chairs will make the centre a more comfortable and pleasant place, and will make all centre users feel more welcome. We want to make Woodhouse Community Centre a more comfortable and welcoming place, and your donations can help us achieve that.

Not only will you know you’re supporting the local community in Little London, Woodhouse and Hyde Park, you’ll become a ‘Woodhouse Warrior’. Every pledge will receive an email with a notification of thanks. You’ll be invited to a ‘Woodhouse Warrior’ coffee morning twice a year, where you can visit the centre and see how your money has been used. If you are sponsoring a chair as a gift for a loved one, we can address the email acknowledgement to them.

If we exceed our fundraising target of £3500, all funds raised will go to supporting Woodhouse Community Centre by supporting the other projects we run that support local people: building maintenance, items to put into food parcels, snacks and drinks or childcare to support ESOL and other groups.

Thank you for your support!
