Zach Gullett Flood Relief Fund
Donation protected
I know many other people are in the same position and it is with heavy hearts that several parishes have suffered this terrible disaster. However, on behalf of one of our very good friends Zach Gullet, I am asking for some assistance to help out. I am one of Zach's good friends since we were children growing up in Jennings and feel like this is the least I can do for him.
Like far too many people in the Baton Rouge and Lafayette areas, he does not have flood insurance because he wasn't in a flood zone and never expected this to happen. He also isn't being covered by FEMA so therefore he will be in a much harder financial predicament to use as much of his time and energy to do most of this himself. Any amount contributed will help. His house had about 3 1/2 ft of water which means the lighting, electrical, appliances, ac units, and even some of the exterior plywood behind the vinyl will need to be replaced.
Several friends have been helping him remove items and demolish what’s left of the interior to save on cost but to rebuild he will need lots of material and some things require professional, licensed people for fire marshall approval such as the electrical work. Please consider donating to help out our friend in need. Even if you can’t donate money but have your time to lend like we have over this past week to help out with the efforts, it would be equally appreciated. All donations will go toward replacing all appliances and materials needed to return his house back to a livable dwelling as well as any labor that we are unqualified to help him do.
If you aren't in a postion to do either, please share this story with people you know. Anyone that grew up with Zach like I did knows that he is an extremely generous individual who would give you the shirt off his back without you asking if you looked like you needed it. Prayers to him as well as all others who are having to go through this.
