Hi, my name is Elen, I’m a single mother and home educate my amazing 10yr old child. in June 2021 I was diagnosed with terminal Alk+ lung cancer that spread to my brain, I had surgery to remove a 3rd of one lung and am on inhibitor medication to control the spread of the remaining tumours, but I am already on my second line of inhibitors which are only due to last around 24 months, then the only treatment available is Chemotherapy which I’ve been told won’t work because the brain tumours are so buried in the brain. Last week I was due to take my son to Japan for a trip of a lifetime, being as he’d always wanted to go, but I ended up having a seizure in the airport and was rushed to hospital with my son in tow. I’m collecting money to try to get us back out to Japan with a chaperone (as I’ve been told I’m not allowed to be alone) and I’d like to get to a treatment centre in America for a feasibility assessment to see if the cancer can be cured.
