A Bench for Boppie

My mom, Andrea Swift Hellings, passed away unexpectedly. She was a great mother, friend, aunt, daughter, and sister, but she lived for her grandkids and was an amazing grandmother. Her granddaughter dubbed her "Boppie" when she was little and it stuck. She was not only Boppie to my children, but to everyone she met with her caring ways and warm nature.

Despite difficulties with her knees, she made it to every sporting event, concert, and more that involved her grandchildren. She also loved the water and found serenity and comfort in going to Peace Valley Park when she lived in PA and loved taking her "grands" to the park when she relocated to TX. Whether she was at one of her grandkids' sporting events, or out to feed the ducks and enjoy a beautiful sunset over the lake, she always looked for "a good sturdy bench" to sit on so she could enjoy the moment.

In lieu of flowers and for anyone looking to help, the family is asking for donations to 'A Bench for Boppie' so we can have "a good sturdy bench" placed in her honor at Peace Valley Park. It is our hope to raise enough to also have benches placed in her honor at the parks where she used to take her grandkids in TX and the parks where she used to watch them play sports as well so other loving grandparents will have a nice sturdy bench, a Boppie bench to sit on and enjoy, cheer on and create cherished memories with their "grands" as well.

Any additional funds raised beyond our bench goal will go towards trees and general donations to the parks in her honor.
