A Black owned Salon where you feel safe & welcome

Hello my name is Tylaria a Licensed Cosmetologist and barber here in Austin . I have spent the last year and half working towards my goal of opening a completely black owned salon that feels safe and accessible for everyone.
I currently own a small private suite that I use as my salon space ( TressDecoSalon ) and I'm fortunate to have had so much support from my clients and followers and I feel its time to expand !
I have had my fair share of expirences feeling out of place in Austins heavily gentrified communities. Whether it was getting denied the ability to rent a booth in predominately non- POC salons , to local beauty supply stores believing my operators license is fake because I am a black women. Although these situations were extremely disappointing, I refuse to let that diminish my vision I see in adding my salon to the lists of Black owned establishments in Austin.
I have acquired a large following of friends and supporters who have told me of their unfair experiences when it comes to them finding a salon that they feel represents them and supports who they are .This salon is something I truly believe will help bring a sense of community in Austin and also create a safe space for Black ,brown , trans , non-binary , and others to feel their best after they've had a lovely salon experience.
We deserve to have salons and beauty supply stores that we don't feel like we are immediately being judge by stereotypical preconceived notions about an individual.
I have started this Gofund me to help fund the necessary essentials to get my business started . Such as securing building , getting equipment, and supplies. Establishing my salon will take work , time and patience. But I'm here for the challenge . Austin needs this.
During this time I am also open to any help/guidance from other business owners and investors. please email me at [email redacted] if you can assist in any way further !
