A Blessing for Bobbie Jo Key & Family

Hello, my name is Kathy and God gave me the privilege of being Bobbie Jo's cousin. We have grown up like sisters and I love her so very much! She is not only a wonderful cousin, but she is an extraordinary wife to Brad, mother to five beautiful children (fostering to adopt two additional children), daughter, sister, friend and artist. Anyone who spends time with her is left feeling better after they do.

Last August Bobbie Jo was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. In September she tested positive for the BRCA2 gene mutation which put her at very high risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer with an increased risk of other cancers as well.

Bobbie caught the cancer early but because of the BRCA2 diagnosis her treatment plan turned from a lumpectomy to a double mastectomy, full hysterectomy and a lifetime of hormone therapy.

A pathology report found that the cancer was the most aggressive grade cancer. During Bobbie's mastectomy it was discovered that the cancer had began to spread.

Bobbie started chemo in October. She made several trips to the hospital between infusions with neutropenic fever. The week of Christmas she completed chemo and danced and cheered with her Mom on the chemo floor as she rang the bell.

Bobbie's chemo infusions caused blood clots in her arm and she was diagnosed with DVT. After three months of blood thinners she was cleared to receive her breast reconstruction surgery and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy.

Bobbie Jo has been such an inspiration throughout her journey. I'd like to ask for your help in blessing her and her family with a little sunshine and support.

All the testing, surgeries, ER trips, chemo, injections and medications add up. It would be great if we could all come together and help this beautiful family by easing the financial burden that cancer creates.
