A Book for the School - Kids In Peru

My name is Lourdes Cabel, and as the director of Sayariy, I have dedicated years to responding to the urgent needs of some of the most remote and marginalized communities in Trujillo and Lambayeque, Peru. Each year, I witness the immense challenges these families face. Yet, I also see their resilience, their hope, and their dreams for a better future—dreams that inspire me to work tirelessly to create opportunities where none existed before.

This year, our mission is growing, and so is our hope. We are thrilled to expand access to education to three communities, reaching a total of 250 children—200 in Trujillo and 50 in Lambayeque. For these children, education is not just a pathway to learning; it is their bridge to a brighter tomorrow, one where possibilities outshine the struggles they face today. But we cannot do this alone. We need you to help make this dream a reality.

Every year, I meet parents who work endlessly, sacrificing so much, yet still unable to afford even the most basic school supplies for their children. The instability in our country weighs heaviest on these families, leaving them without the means to give their children the opportunities they deserve. That’s where Sayariy steps in—and where your kindness and generosity can change lives.

Why does this matter?

Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. It opens doors to opportunities and empowers children to believe in their potential. But without proper resources, many of these children struggle to keep up. Our mission is to change that—to help them not only succeed in school but also dream bigger than they ever thought possible.

With your support, we will provide each child with essential school supplies and hire dedicated teachers to offer after-school support in our community libraries. These safe, nurturing spaces will help children catch up on their studies and grow in confidence, building the foundation they need to thrive.
