A Boy With A Big Heart

My name is Alison Dolan and I am from Massapequa, NY. This past summer our, Massapequa school community lost a young life way too soon. One of our 11th graders, Gerardo Schiraldi, passed away. This loss has touched my family and our community. Gerry was my son’s best friend for all their childhood. He brought out the best in my son, and in others that were near him, and that is why I would like to start a scholarship to honor his memory, and his kind heart. He always managed to make my son smile, and for those of you that know my son, Sean, that isn’t an easy thing to do. . If you knew Gerry, you know how his presence could bring a smile to your face. Gerry's pure heart touched everyone he came across. We’d like to use this platform to pay tribute and remembrance to Gerry. To live in all of our hearts and beyond, we are fundraising in order to honor Gerry's memory. The money raised will be used to help us kick-start, The Gerrardo Schiraldi scholarship "The Boy with a Big Heart. This scholarship will enable students of Masssapequa High School to receive assistance to complete their college degree. Gerry was a caring, compassionate boy. He served as an altar server at Maria Regina R.C, Church for many years, and dedicated his time to serving others. We are creating this Go Fund Me to raise money for this scholarship fund. The award should be given to a student that exemplifies the qualities that made Gerry the special young man that he was. It should be for character, compassion, and community service. The Gerardo Schiraldi scholarship will help to keep Gerry's memory alive for years to come.
