A brave mother's battle with Stage 4 Lung Cancer

Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have created this GoFundMe campaign to rally around our beautiful mother, Lori Costa, who is bravely battling stage 4 lung cancer. Lori has always found a way to make it through so many of life's hardships and has persevered through many of life’s challenges. Now she needs a little help from others. Cancer has taken a huge toll on her health in a very short time, and she is no longer able to work to support herself or her family financially. This is a reality she’s never had to face. As she navigates this difficult path, we all have an opportunity to reduce her financial burdens and make a huge difference in her life.

Throughout her life, Lori has been a pillar of strength for her children. She has endured hardships, and overcome so many obstacles, but above all of that, she poured her heart into raising us. Her determination and unconditional love has shaped us into the people we are today. Throughout her life, she's worked tirelessly to provide for the four of us and has even opened her home to several of our friends, and cared for them as if they were her own children. She has always done whatever she’s had to do to make ends meet and support her family, even if that meant working multiple jobs at once. But now, she is facing a battle that requires more than her sheer strength and determination.

**The Struggle**

Although Lori has been approved for Disability, there is a mandatory five-month waiting period before she will start receiving any financial support. As bills pile up and the weight of uncertainty presses down, Lori finds herself in a position she never imagined. She's a fighter, but even warriors need support. She has been unable to work since December and as you can imagine, household bills and expenses keep pouring in. It takes a great deal of strength to be vulnerable enough to ask for financial help in this time of need and she was very hesitant to ask for help at all, fearing it might burden others. But the truth is she can’t make it through this tough time on her own.

**Our Mission**

We've launched this GoFundMe campaign to ease the financial strain on our mom. Our goal is twofold:
