A Bright Future for Maysen

Kristen Whitted was taken from us on 11/30/2020 at 3pm in a senseless act of violence. She was driving on the interstate when two cars came up from behind at a high rate of speed. They began weaving in and out of traffic and shooting at one another. Kristen was an innocent bystander, simply driving on the interstate when she was caught in the crossfire and was killed. Her precious daughter Maysen had not only her wonderful mother but her best friend taken from her that day. As a single mother, we know Kristen’s main concern was for her teenage daughter. This fundraiser is for Maysen’s college fund and living expenses for a bright future.
Kristen was an exuberant and joyous person who was the embodiment of humility, kindness, humor, strength, resilience and perseverance with her signature tell-it-like-it-is honesty. When she spoke, you listened because you were either going to get a nugget of wisdom or a deep belly laugh. Kristen was a protective caregiver to everyone around her always putting the needs of others above herself. She listened intently with compassion, love, and sometimes a very weird cocktail in her hand. She was unflappable and unfazed, always concerned about the well-being of others. Her family was everything to her and she loved to brag on what wonderful children she had, Byron 29 and Maysen 16.
She constantly bragged on what a good kid Maysen always was, describing in detail how she was smart, kind, level-headed, easygoing and independent. Maysen is an honor-roll student-athlete who is dedicated to her schoolwork, her family and friends. She excels in school, volleyball, track, and dance. Kristen envisioned a bright future for Maysen and we want to ensure that Kristen’s vision comes to pass.
A separate bank account will be established and 100% of the funds collected will be used solely for the purpose of Maysen’s college and future living expenses. Her brother Byron will oversee the distribution of funds.
