A Cry for Help: Surviving in Gaza
Donation protected
Dear friends and compassionate strangers,
My name is Abdallah, and I am 23 years old. I am writing to you with a heavy heart, from the center of the Gaza Strip. My 12-year-old brother, Omar, and I are doing everything we can to help our 8 members family survive in these horrific conditions. We are trapped near the Netsarem army zone, which separates the north and south of Gaza. This area is under constant attack from Israeli tanks and airstrikes, turning our surroundings into a war zone.
Every day, we face the unimaginable. Walking in the streets has become a deadly gamble, but we have no other choice. We must go out to find food and water. The essentials we once took for granted are now rare and prohibitively expensive. The destruction of Rafah Crossing and the water desalination plants has made access to clean water nearly impossible.
Our situation is desperate. Medical supplies are almost nonexistent. Most hospitals have been destroyed and are overwhelmed with the injured and dead. Just last month, we lost our beloved aunt because we couldn’t get her the medical treatment she needed in time. She had heart issues, and the helplessness we felt as we watched her slip away still haunts us.
Despite the constant danger, Omar and I risk our lives every day to keep our family from starving. Every day is a struggle to find the help we need. The fear of being shot in the streets is constant, but so is our will to survive.
We are reaching out to you because we have nowhere else to turn. Your donation can be the lifeline that keeps our family alive. The funds you provide will go directly towards:
- Procuring food and clean water to sustain us
- Securing medical supplies and treatment for my injury and our family’s needs
- Providing temporary shelter and basic necessities to keep us safe
In the face of this unprecedented genocide, your support can give us hope and a chance to survive. No amount is too small, and every contribution brings us closer to safety.
Please, consider donating and sharing our story with those who might also lend a hand. Your compassion can be our beacon of hope in these darkest times.
Thank you from the depths of our hearts for your kindness and generosity.
With all our gratitude,
Abdallah and Omar
