Urgent Appeal for Help to Keep Hossam's Family Alive in Gaza

I am Hossam Khairi Hajouj from Gaza Strip and I study in the Republic of Egypt with two of my brothers.

I am writing these words after approximately 156 days of war in the Gaza Strip, the place where 8 members of my family are located.

Since the beginning of the war, my family has been steadfast in our house, which is located in the city of Khan Yunis, until December 6, 2023. My family was forced to flee to the city of Rafah, where they were suffering from water scarcity, lack of communication, and lack of food resources, in addition to my mother, who suffers from a fourth and fifth degree disc in her back.

A month after our displacement, we received news of the bombing of our house, which consists of 4 floors, and the fire continued to burn in it for up to 7 hours.

Hassan and Karam and I are students studying in the Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University in the Republic of Egypt. I am a final-year student and I always wanted to complete my studies in UK and specialize in plastic surgery, but the war prevented me from realizing my dream because my father became unable to provide me with tuition fees and for my brothers, housing rent, our expenses, and basic requirements. It became difficult for my father to transfer tuition fees to us

Ismail is my brother, who recently graduated as a nurse. He wanted to volunteer at Nasser Medical Hospital to help the sick and injured. After the displacement of a large number of medical staff, the occupation army besieged him inside the hospital for up to a month and a half. After that period had passed, they allowed him to leave the hospital under gunfire. He suffered some light bruises on his body.

Ola is a third-year mechatronics engineering student at Al-Azhar University. She has always been an active part of her community, implementing many initiatives and offering various courses in the English language. Ola's dream, which she had always aspired to achieve, was destroyed and turned into ashes.
