A car for Deano
Donation protected
In 2018 my beautiful husband sadly had a heart attack which resulted in a severe hypoxic brain injury from the reduced oxygen flowing through his body. It has left him severely disabled, unable to talk or move and he is diagnosed as not having any chance of functional recovery. He has fought very hard to survive and has amazingly beaten the odds stacked against him and continues to do so.
I have been advocating to have our home modified so as he can move back home permanently but until then he is residing in a nursing home. I need to purchase a vehicle that is modified to transport him sitting in his wheelchair. The vehicles are expensive and then the modifications required for the wheelchair access cost almost as much as the car. And then there is the ongoing fuel, servicing and running costs.
Dean has very limited transport options and cannot come and go to anywhere as he pleases. Most of the time I need to walk him in his wheelchair and unfortunately our home is too far away from the nursing home to walk him home.
It would truly improve Deans quality of life if he were able to visit his own home with me and for us to be able to go out to places together. To do that I need to be able to transport him in a modified vehicle. Deano is the most amazing and inspiring man I know. If you are able to donate anything to help me purchase a wheelchair vehicle for Dean it would be greatly appreciated and I thank you with all of my heart.
