A Celebration of Life

Hello All,

My name is Diane. I am starting this GoFundMe page after recent loss of one of the best women I have ever met, Gail Bannon/Murphy/Montgomery. We are trying to raise money to have a celebration of life gathering with all of Gail’s family and friends and to charter a boat to send her ashes, along with her daughter and husband’s ashes, into the ocean in Maine as she wished where they can rest together forever in their favorite place.

I met her when I was in middle school when I became best friends with her daughter Carrie. Carrie and I were inseparable! Gail instantly became my second Mum. Gail was a strong, kind and loving soul. She was loved by so many and everyone who’s lives she touched will forever remember her.

Despite struggling with pain and medical conditions she always put on a happy face. She had an awesome smile and the most beautiful piercing blue eyes. Gail was brought to the hospital last month due to a stroke and severe kidney failure. She was in the ICU intubated/medically sedated, on pressors to maintain blood pressure and was started on hemodialysis. She fought hard, was extubated and transferred to medical floor to continue her fight and ensure her comfort for her upcoming flight. Thankfully we were able to spend time with her expressing our love, support, encouragement and to help ease her mind and say our goodbyes as she approached the end of her life. Those who were unable to be physically present at the hospital were able to speak with her by phone and voice their love as well.

Unfortunately, Gail passed away on Saturday July 13, 2024. She passed peacefully. Gail’s best friend Cheryl, Cheryl’s family and I were all by her side when she was called to heaven to reunite with Carrie, her fallen brothers, family and friends who also have passed.
