Hello, my name is Jolly and some of you probably know me from Sheev Talks and Madvocates streams on YouTube.
A little while ago a crack appeared in my roof. I asked my landlord to fix it but they never did. Around Christmas that crack became a disaster, and a large section of my ceiling collapsed. Once again, I begged my landlord to do something and, once again, they didn't. So I taped bin bags over the hole and tried to go on with my life until I could get them to fix it.
They never did.
A few days ago, whilst I was away, the entire ceiling and roof in that room collapsed, exposing my flat to the elements, making it uninhabitable and rendering me, effectively, homeless until it's fixed. But the landlord still refuses. He's chosen to claim that I caused the damage and drag this out in the courts; hoping, I believe, to bully me into paying to fix the damage myself rather than have to spend his money. He has decided to play chicken with my entire life, knowing that I have nowhere to live and that court mandated relief would be months away. But, even if I wanted to, I can't pay to fix it. I simply don't have the money. I live paycheck to paycheck and what little I could save is used to help keep my mother housed
Owing to childhood abuse inflicted at their hands and my subsequent disowning of them, my other family will not lift a finger to help me, leaving me with nowhere to turn but my friends and community. I need to raise enough money to put a deposit down on a new flat, ensuring I have a roof over my head and can continue to work and live.
I know that times are tough for everyone right now, and I wouldn't ask if it weren't my last and only option. If you can't contribute, I completely understand. But if you can, even if its only a few dollars or pounds, I would be eternally grateful for your kindness.
