A christmas miracle for The Moreno Family

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Veronica and I am a good friend of the Moreno Family. A few days before Christmas, this family's life changed in a totally unexpected way. Christmas decorations were half finished, a giant inflatable Santa Claus was left on the lawn, Christmas lights were not lit, and at home there are two children who cannot understand why the older brother who normally plays with them now has to take care of the house chores, mom was locked in her bedroom in isolation and dad is fighting for his life in the hospital; all victims of Covid19.

Almost three weeks ago, my friend Laady rushed her husband to the hospital because he was dying. When she arrived, doctors ripped his shirt open and quickly performed an EKG, put on oxygen and connected him to machines. He tested positive for Covid19 and was losing the battle. Edgar was quickly isolated. The diagnosis, Covid19, and double pneumonia. Inevitably, Laady also tested positive for Covid19. She was not hospitalized; however, her lungs got affected and she had to spent two weeks in isolation at home. In those two weeks she lived in fear of of dying. She has regained her strength now; however, 25% of her lung’s function has been affected.

Edgar remains in the IC Unit. He is intubated and has had to deal with multiple infections. He continues fighting for his life, while his wife and children continue praying for a miracle. The situation is getting complicated emotionally and financially as the time goes by.

Edgar is an independent contractor and the sole bread winner. He works in landscaping during the summer and snow removal during the winter. Despite the hard work he does all year round, his employment does not provide enough income to pay for health insurance. Inevitably, family finances are being affected, and the situation will be much more difficult in the coming months due to the lack of income. There is uncertainty in this family because monthly bills don’t stop and hospitals bills will soon start accumulating.

I created this GoFundMe page because, although some people have stepped in to help the family with groceries and other items for Laady and the kids, it will not be enough to cover the family’s day to day and medical expenses. Edgar won’t be able to work this winter at all, and God only knows what the future will hold for him and the family.

I firmly believe that acts of generosity begin with one person. Those acts hold the magic of touching hearts, one by one. In this world there are people of good heart willing to help someone who really needs it. The Moreno Family needs you with their day-to-day expenses and the medical bills. No donation is small if it is made from the heart. May God reward your good will and this act of love for your neighbor. Thank you very much.
