A Christmas Tragedy: Support the Bauer Family

My name is Elyse Dehlbom, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my friend and colleague, Evan, and his family as they navigate a devastating loss during what should have been a joyful season.

Just days before Christmas, Evan’s mother, Baltimore native Cindy Bauer, 67 was struck in a car accident. Despite receiving excellent care at Johns Hopkins Bayview, her injuries were too severe, and she passed away on December 26th with her family by her side.

Cindy Bauer, was a loving mother of two, a proud grandmother, and a dedicated drug and alcohol counselor for 15 years. She helped countless individuals in her community during her career. Sadly, two years ago when the organization she worked for lost state funding, Cindy also lost her benefits, including life insurance.

This Christmas took so much from their family and I am hoping that together as a community we can put some magic back into their Holiday by allowing them to grieve without the financial burden of this great loss. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
