Help a chronically ill trans person stay housed!
Donation protected
Hey friends, my name is Anzi and I had to stop working last year due to Long COVID and PTSD. I am a white, chronically ill and disabled trans person with less than $100 to my name at the time of publishing this fundraiser. I have zero credit available (in fact, I'm declaring bankruptcy next week) and no consistent financial support.
I need your help to raise $3500 to catch up on back rent and cover December rent so I can stay housed for the remainder of 2023.
Currently, I eat on less than $10 a day (all from the microwave, as I can't physically cook for myself). I rarely leave the house except to go to doctor's appointments. I don't buy anything for myself that isn't a medical necessity.
The stress of food and housing insecurity regularly causes flare-ups of my chronic illness, making it even harder to take action and seek out support.
I've been applying for disability benefits (SSDI) for 9 months and counting, and as anyone familiar with the process can attest, it usually takes 1-2 years to get approved. In numerous ways, this system keeps millions of disabled Americans in forced poverty.
Earlier this fall, I founded DisabiliT4T, a community organization devoted to creating social spaces that center the needs and rights of chronically ill and disabled trans people—especially our right to have FUN. By helping to chip away at my financial insecurity, you're also giving me the gift of energy that I can devote to growing this community and providing resources and intentional community care to other queer spoonies.
If you yourself are queer and disabled or chronically ill (broadly defined!), please consider taking the DisabiliT4T Needs Assessment Survey and let us know what you need to feel socially fulfilled!
TL;DR, taking any of the following actions will be a great help:

5. Donate to DisabiliT4T
