Save a life: Help Wishbone’s Amputation Heal.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Eileen and I’m fundraising for Wishbone, a “community cat” who my wife and I had spayed through Broward County SNIP/TNR program. We also paid out for her to have her rabies shot, deworming, and 4-way vaccine. We came home late July 19 to find Wishbone limping. I was able to grab her and put her in a crate in my garage. The next morning, we took her to Ramblewood Animal Hospital (awesome staff!) where the x-ray clearly showed her front left paw totally separated. The vet said the only option is a total amputation. The only “good thing” about the break is that the nerves were severed and Wishbone is not in pain. The vet quoted us over $3,000, but she recommended another vet who would do it for $1,500. Christine and I have already paid over $500 for the vet visit and blood work for pre-surgery. Based on the vet’s and other cat agencies’ comments, Wishbone will still have a a good chance of being adopted after amputation. In fact, the vet said “tripods” sometimes get adopted faster. Please help us ultimately save Wishbone’s life by donating towards her amputation. **UPDATE** on Friday, July 21, I used my credit card to pay Crystal Lake Animal Hospital where their vet performed the surgery and also stitched a deep cut on her back leg. We are keeping Wishbone in her own room while she recovers. On her first night home, I slept on the floor with her. Now it is Sunday, July 23 and not only is she happy, purring, rubbing and bouncing around me, this once outside stray has even used the litter box. She is eating normally, and my wife and I realized another difference between humans and animals: Animals do not pity themselves. She is the happiest cat ever. We will take Wishbone to have her stitches removed in two weeks. We are doing our very best to ensure this kitty recovers fully so that she may have a beautiful, happy life with her future forever home.***A BIG Thank you to my wife for her support and love helping Wishbone. It has not been easy! Came home from a very long flight home to poor Wishbone limping to me the night we came home. I love this kitty as if my own, and would help any kitty in need. Please help me help her. If you can give anything to help me help her I will forever be grateful!! Thank you for all who have already given $!! Every little bit helps!! ❤️❤️❤️ Stitches are out, and her new forever mommy has taken Wishbone home!
