A Daddy and His Daughter

Donation protected
Hi my name is Kameron I am reaching out to raise funds for my best friend and my god- daughter. I have a beautiful god-daughter named Scarlotte. She is three years old. My friend Brandon, her daddy, is 25. He is a single daddy doing his best.

Here is their story from Brandon's mom:
"We found out that Scarlotte had kidney disease when she was about 4-5 months old. She went through surgery when she was 6 months old to take a biopsy of her kidney. Unfortunately, they made a mistake and took a piece of her liver. Then she had to suffer through another surgery the next day and be cut open again. I was in the operating recovery room and my heart just broke. It crushed me to hear her cry in pain. Scarlotte also has a genetic mutation that has never been discovered. It only has a name of 2q14.2. There is only 1 child in the whole world who has similar symptoms, but Scarlotte is pretty much one of a kind. This mutation has caused many other issues including hearing loss in her left ear, chronic vomiting and diarrhea, delay in speaking, not being able to eat regular food, and possibly Autism. She has to be tube fed almost 24 hours a day. This leaves her with little chance to be a normal 3 yr old. She has been in and out of Hershey Hospital many times since she was approximately 4 months old. Many of her stays were lengthy. Scarlotte had to spend her first and second Christmas in the hospital. Brandon would always stay with her. Often, he would have to leave from the hospital to go to work. Over the last year, her kidney functions were steadily dropping. On Christmas Eve, 2021, Scarlotte started having seizures. She was admitted and had to begin dialysis. She went 3 times a week to Hershey Hospital. Scarlotte was put on a transplant list. Brandon got tested to see if he was a match. Well, praise God he was!! He began further testing and was officially approved as a living donor for his baby girl. On March 22, 2022, Brandon gave his then two-year-old baby daughter the gift of life. What an amazing daddy!! He is my hero!! The surgery was successful. Since then, Scarlotte has been back in the hospital several times because her body is having issues with making red blood cells and keeping her hydrated. Her creatine levels constantly give her issues, which can show signs of her body rejecting the new kidney. Every day is pretty much trial and error for her. Scarlotte is currently in the hospital and is going on for 5 weeks. Brandon stayed with her the first week, but needed to go back to work to be able to pay bills. His mother has been coming up from Maryland and staying during the week with her so he can work. She has had a kidney biopsy, colonoscopy, endoscopy, x rays and 2 MRI's. She suffers from pain at times as well. She still has her native kidneys, but the doctors want to remove them because they may be causing problems for the new kidney. She is currently scheduled for April 7th 2023 to have her native kidneys removed. Poor baby girl. Another big surgery."

Unfortunately, the recovery for Brandon required him to be off work for a few weeks. He is a single daddy and a one-income family. He has full custody of Scarlotte. Brandon is currently facing losing his home. There is a foreclosure sale date to sell his house on May 19th, 2023. Due to all the time Scarlotte was in the hospital, Brandon has lost a substantial amount of income. His family does not have the funds to help. It's so heartbreaking that he can't stay at the hospital with his baby girl because of the threat of losing his home.

I am so worried about my friend and goddaughter. I am reaching out to you because I am desperate to help my friend keep his home for him and his baby girl. His family has helped out a lot over the past three years, but there is no money to help catch him up on his mortgage. I am hoping that you may be able to help him so that he may be able to concentrate more on getting his daughter well. He struggles daily with depression and anxiety. I am so worried about him. As his friend, I feel so helpless. I don't know what to do. I want to make sure that as many people see her situation as possible. You are so very compassionate that I am hoping you will find it in your heart to help me find a way for my friend the keep his home. Take care and God bless!

Sincerely, Kameron and the family of Brandon
