A Day for Kathi
Donation protected
Meet Kathi. She's my spunky, happy, loving neighbor. She has so much love in her heart and she does so much for the neighborhood. She's charitable, positive, and has an amazing faith in God.
Don't let her set of wheels fool you, Kathi is one of the strongest people I know. When she got her diagnosis of Cancer, she decided she would kick its butt, and she did. She looked square in the eye of that demon and unflinchingly told it who's boss. She is now cancer-free. That is the spirit and soul of this lovely woman.
Despite a strong desire to work, her specific abilities make it difficult to maintain employment. For that reason, she doesn't exactly have money burning a hole in her pocket. In fact, she has trouble finding two nickels to rub together sometimes. I work for a non-profit arts organization, so I don't either.
Kathi has two trees on her property and I have one tree on mine that are nearing the end of their lives and we're both eyeballing them knowing they will either fall on her house or mine very soon. Since this benefits me as well with my one tree being included, I have seeded the pot with $200 I had earmarked for charitable donation. As much as I would love to just pay for the trees to be removed as a thank you for all she does and all she deserves, I just can't spare the funds. I need your help. She also is having trouble with the concrete on her porch being cracked and damaged. It is getting difficult for her to get out of her house with the potholes not playing fair with her wheelchair.
I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to give back to Kathi all she deserves. She deserves the love returned to her that she has shown so many others. I have set a goal of $3500. This will cover the removal of the three monster trees. I have selected a tree service with not only a modest estimate, but one that expressed an excitement at supporting the project.
Every penny will go to Kathi and this tree removal project. If we happen to raise more than $3500, all of it will go toward fixing her concrete, repairing little things around the house, maintenance to her transportation, and general expenses.
Your support would mean the world to me and to Kathi. A little help now with these trees would prevent a nightmare later if they fall.
As a big thank you for your donation, I have planned with the tree service to remove and chip the little stuff but leave the wood. Once the trees are down, you are ALL invited to take free firewood. It is two huge maples and a large Spruce. Have a chainsaw? log splitter? Even a portable mill would go great with these big maples if you want to bring it and get some maple slabs. Heck, we can make it a big potluck meal and celebrate the wonderful person Kathi is. Let's make a beautiful day for Kathi and show her the love she deserves.
