A dear woman with schizophrenia needing essentials
Donation protected
Dear friends, I know of someone named Calissa who is battling schizophrenia and needs a leg up. Despite being faithful with her medical care, Calissa recently lost her job and couldn't pay for her housing. She briefly moved to the streets of Detroit until a loved one found out and intervened. She has since found a place to live and has been looking for a new job. However, she needs all the essentials that you can imagine (bed, basic furniture, sheets, towels, dishes, etc.). Schizophrenia is an enormous struggle. But, Calissa is a fighter, and I want to help set up a secure corner for her to fight from, rest in, and flourish!
For those with schizophrenia, loss of income can start a path to long-term homelessness, even for people like Calissa who want to work. I don't want that to be the case here.
A little more about Calissa:
Calissa is generous and a loving soul of 51. She's an army veteran and mother of three and grandmother of three. (Her kids are no longer at home). She is also creative and crafty.
Please consider helping. The base funds will be put toward home essentials. First on the list are:
- A bed and other bedroom furniture
- Kitchen Wares
- Dining room table and chairs
- living room furniture
Any extras will help bridge housing costs until Calissa has found her job. Calissa's sister, Sarah (a good friend of mine who is an attorney), has been with her for months and will be managing these funds and all purchases for Calissa.
Thank you and much love! -Jonathan
