A Doctor’s Fight - Maute’s Movement
Donation protected
Please join us in raising money for our good friend and colleague Dr. Tucker Maute.
In a world of great uncertainty, we are often tasked with challenges that are unexpected and unexplainable. These unforeseeable events present themselves to the Emergency Department daily, but everything hits differently when it’s one of our own dealing with any form of pain or suffering.
As our residency attending and mentor Dr. John O’Brien would say, “No one said life would be easy”, but it is our responsibility to continue to live and cherish it’s many blessings while displaying endless love, support, and hope to our friends and family during their greatest time of need.
For those who are unfamiliar with the sequence of events, Tucker has been battling health concerns throughout the past month. He was recently hospitalized for shortness of breath at the beginning of November and in the process found to have a large unexplained pleural effusion. After much testing, recurrent hospitalizations, and a VATS procedure, he was ultimately diagnosed with Malignant Papillary Mesothelioma. An extremely rare form of Mesothelioma.
As we all know, Tucker is an incredibly gifted, intelligent, selfless and genuine person that truly puts others before himself. He is a man of God and a person that has dedicated himself over the years, like many of you, in serving his community open heartedly and to the best of his ability. He is a great friend with an enormous heart who has always been willing to step-up for the greater good whenever given an opportunity to do so.
It is now our turn to step up and help a friend during his greatest time of need.
It is without a doubt that Tucker and Olivia have a long road ahead, but I’m hopeful that through our donations here today we will be able to provide a glimpse of hope as they prepare to enter the next chapter in their lives which will include an invasive surgical intervention and chemotherapy.
All proceeds will be gifted directly to Tucker to assist with upcoming medical costs and health related expenses.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity.
“God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.”
