A Dollar from Danville for Camryn Lewis
Donation protected
I will keep this as brief as possible.
My name is Camryn Lewis and I am a filmmaker and transfer student from Danville, Virginia. After recently completing my education at Danville Community College where I obtained a 4.0 GPA and served as President of its Phi Theta Kappa chapter, I've been admitted into and have received a full-tuition scholarship from Columbia College Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, based on my application and my portfolio of my film work.
Although I've received a tremendous amount of financial support through grants and scholarships from Columbia College Chicago, I am still struggling to come up with the finances needed for my rooming and boarding and my books -- and it truly troubles me, for I would hate to have an issue such as this be the reason why I miss out on this great opportunity to further my education and to represent the city of Danville in an positive light.
Now, the population in Danville is a little over 40,000, and I've figured if it's possible for me to receive a small donation of only $1 from you and half of this beautiful city, that'll cover all that is needed for me to transfer to Chicago this fall. A dollar from you (or more; it's entirely up to you) can bring me that much closer toward the dreams I am constantly working toward.
I hope this in no way displays a seeking of sympathy for my current situation and lack of needed funds, for I am certain there are many people around the world who are facing similar and even more difficult circumstances than myself during this unpredictable time. My purpose here is to make you aware of this great opportunity that will change my life, for I truly believe my love and dedication to cinema and the craft of filmmaking was presented this opportunity to be furthered for a reason, and that this opportunity came at this time in my life for a reason, and all I want to do is make the most of it.
I am due to begin classes at the beginning of August 2021, and deposits for rooming and boarding are due by the end of May.
If you have taken the time to read this GoFundMe page, thank you so much. Any donation you're able to give will be immensely appreciated and will go toward the furthering of my education and my journey as a filmmaker.
If you have any questions or concerns in regard to this GoFundMe page, please feel free to contact me at anytime.
Thank you.

"He belongs in here because he thinks he has ideas. He belongs in here until he proves himself or fails and then somebody else until he proves himself or fails and so on and so on for always. All he wants, all any of them want, is a chance to show, to find out what they've got while they're still young and burning like a short cut or a stepping stone. I know they're not gonna succeed, at least most of them aren't, but they won't mind it. They'll find something else and they'll be happy because they had their chance. Because it's one thing to muff a chance when you get it...but it's another thing never to have had a chance." -- "Christmas in July" (1940)
