A family in need of help in a tough time

My name is Sara and I'm a newly divorced mom of a 9 year old boy. In my marriage I raised my ex husbands 2 daughters for 10 years and was their psychological parent, as their mother was not involved in their lives. After I left my abusive marriage I was cut off from having any contact with them. This lasted 7 months, which broke my heart. Because CPS had to intervene in their home the courts have given me full custody of my son and now temporary custody of my step daughters while treatment plans for dad and kiddos are carried out.

I have struggled financially throughout my separation and divorce proceedings but I have worked hard and been resourceful. Some how I've always figured it out. Now that I have full custody of my son and two more kiddos to take care of the financial strains are undeniable. I will not be receiving any child support for any of the children and government agencies can take up to 2 weeks to provide assistance. Because the kiddos will all be receiving treatment from therapy, medical, dental, case workers I will be working less to accommodate this.

My son is well provided for in my home but the girls will be in need of many things.

I would appreciate any help in my family's time of need. My goal here is to make sure all 3 children have a more comfortable transition into my home full time and can head off to school with confidence and with what they need. With monthly bills and rent coming up it will be tough to provide this for them.

They deserve it.
