Help Family in Need Purchase Used Car

Hi All,

My name is Cynthia Sitcov and as many of you now know,my husband Andy Semmel and I have been helping out a family of five since they immigrated from Afghanistan to the States in August 2021. Pictured here is the pressure cooker they carried with them, one of the few possessions they were allowed to take the day they fled. 

The dad worked for the US military for most of his adult life while in Afghanistan. He sustained a bullet wound protecting American soldiers, which is aggravated by manual labor,  the kind of work that many refugees engage in and usually the most remunerative.

Instead he works as a security guard at National Airport. There are nights when his shift ends after midnight and he walks home(four miles) because Metro stops working after midnight.  He is working hard to support his wife and three kids. A fourth is on the way.

Adjusting to life in a new country, and leaving their family and friends has been a traumatic experience . But they are safe and happy to be making a life in the US. We are hoping to raise enough funding to help them purchase a safe and reliable used car. All monies raised will be used specifically for the purchase of this vehicle .Any level of support is most welcomed.
