A familia all together. I recently had this portrait made for my Mom. A reminder to her when she looks at it that they're always with her in spirit.

My mother, Cecilia, has suffered more than anyone should have to. She has lost her 3 brothers and her mother, all to untimely deaths. Of her immediate family, Cecilia and her little sister Amanda are struggling to cope with the grief.

Lupe, Cecilia, Jose (Beto, as we called him), Luis, Carlos, and Amanda. This is my Mother's family. Her only wish is to lay her Mom, Lupe and brother, Luis to rest. I can share my Mom's life story entirely, but I'll keep it to this story why my family is reaching out for help to bless this amazingly strong deserving woman to put to rest the last of her family. A family of 6 was shortly lived that turned to 2. Cecilia's youngest brother, Carlos, was murdered at a house party at the age of 16. The second brother, Beto, was murdered outside of a restaurant at the age of 25. The middle brother, Luis, had a battle with diabetes that caused him to have a seizure and brain damage that left him in a coma. Being the last living brother my Mom was faced with the most difficult decision of her life to pull the plug after months went by with no brain activity. Luis was 32 years old. Shortly after Cecilia's Mother, Lupe, was diagnosed with cancer. Cecilia was traveling from Vegas to Mexico to pick up her mom and bring her to San Diego for treatment. Lupe passed away soon after unexpectedly. Cecilia found her Mother on the bedroom floor deceased. The pain carried from these losses. You can't articulate that grief and it is more than a person can burden. We wonder why - why were they choosen to leave earth so soon. Now, with only Cecilia and Amanda they're left grieving their loses of their Mother and siblings and having a proper burial for Lupe and Luis. Unfortunately, we were not prepared for such a tragedy. Today, we humbly ask for financial support to help with the cost of the burial expenses for Lupe and Luis to ensure they receive the farewell they deserve. I understand that times are tough for many people, and asking for financial assistance is never easy. But I firmly believe in the power of community and the kindness of strangers. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our lives. To lay a Mother and her 3 son's to rest peacefully together.
