I created this go fund me account for my best friend of 25 years and her two kids who have gone through the unimaginable. On February 13, 2020 their world tragically changed in the blink of an eye. It was just one day shy of her and her now ex husband’s 7 year wedding anniversary, she was giving their 3 year old daughter a bath when she found out from her daughter that her ex husband, the father of both kids, had been sexually molesting her. From that moment on she has been living every mothers worst nightmare. She’s in the battle of her life trying to protect her kids from going back into the arms of the man who was supposed to protect them.

 

As many of you may already know, our justice system can unknowingly fail people, especially children. This case is currently still an ongoing open investigation and the details of what that little girl went through will haunt me forever, which is why I am doing everything and anything I can to help this family as they continue on this long road to healing.

 

Maddy had to learn how to be a single mother to two small children on top of the trauma that they all 3 were left with. For months I saw this broken, shattered woman cry and not even want to get out of bed, but every day she still picked up the pieces and was the mother that her kids needed… I tell her all the time that she is the strongest woman I know!

 

Her daughter, who is now 5, is full of sass and has a smile that will melt your heart! Just being around her you can tell that she’s been through a lot. Her voice deserves to be heard. We need to do more to protect children. Our justice system cannot keep failing them!

 

As you can imagine, she has spent thousands already in attorney fees which hasn’t gotten her very far, on top of  therapy sessions and suddenly taking on the bills, groceries, schooling, etc. all on her own. There is a hearing coming up next month in which she has to pay her attorney again and if she cannot then her attorney will not represent her anymore. Not only has this been an emotionally draining time for them, but it’s also been financially draining as well. Which is why I created this as a way to hopefully help ease some of the financial stress that they’re going through during this difficult time. Please share their story to as many people as you can and keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to fight for justice and safety as they try rebuild their lives the best that they can.
