I am writing to bring attention to a critical legal battle that speaks to the very core of justice, accountability, and the fight against defamation. My name is Dr. Farhan Chak—Professor of Political Science, Author, TEDx Speaker, Poet, and Founder & Director of Veritas Leadership Consultancy. My career has been dedicated to scholarship, leadership, and advocacy. Since 2007, I have found myself the target of public defamatory statements made on various platforms fueled by falsehoods.

In 2007, after winning the Federal Liberal nomination, I became the target of a deeply prejudiced effort to discredit me. These attacks—rooted in misinformation, religious discrimination, and personal vilification— were authored by Ezra Levant and made public on his various media platforms and in his published book.

Though I took initial legal steps, I lacked the resources at the time to fight back fully. However, years later, when Mr. Levant renewed his attacks through a television segment and a defamatory book, I refused to remain silent.

Determined to set the record straight, I launched defamation lawsuits against Mr. Levant and Sun Media. In November 2021, justice was served when the court ruled in my favor, finding Mr. Levant liable in defamation. However, my fight is not yet over. My second lawsuit—against Ezra Levant and Random House—has been ongoing for over a decade. I believe their approach is designed to exhaust resources and discourage accountability, but I refuse to back down.

This case is not just about me—it is about ensuring that those who weaponize lies and smear campaigns are held accountable. It is about defending the truth, protecting individuals from reputational harm, and sending a clear message that defamation will not go unchallenged. But justice comes at a cost. Legal battles require significant financial resources, and I am reaching out to seek support from those who believe in truth, fairness, and the necessity of standing up to powerful media figures who abuse their platforms.
