A Firefighter In Need

Donation protected
Jonathan Robinson, 35, works as a fireman for Dekalb County specialty hazmat team COMPANY 19. He also serves as an active member of Decatur Fire and Rescue. On August 17, 2021, he tested positive for COVID-19 which he contracted while on duty as a first responder. Jonathan spent 9 days recovering at home however on August 26, 2021, his condition worsened, and he was admitted to the intensive care unit at Emory University Hospital. Over the next 3 days he battled extreme hypoxia and COVID-19 pneumonia. Jonathan was able to step down from the ICU unit however remained in the hospital for an additional 3 days suffering from severe lung damage. Jonathan was then released home on continuous oxygen, where he continues to battle COVID which has resulted in permanent damage to his body and organs.

Jonathan and his wife, Shanyi McQuilla-Robinson have three daughters ages 12, 7, and 3. Shanyi is a dedicated stay-at-home mother as well as a homeschool teacher for their children. One of his daughters has special needs and regularly needs to see an Occupational Therapist, a Sleep Psychologist, a Cognitive Behavioral, as well as a Psychiatrist. Another of his daughters suffers with developmental delays and requires additional care and attention to reach age-related milestones.  Their third daughter has struggled with severe asthma resulting in monthly immunotherapy shots and regular inhaler treatments. Unfortunately, when the pandemic hit a lot of the extracurricular activities their daughters were enrolled in to assist with social emotional challenges were halted, causing additional challenges and anxiety, which in turn resulted in additional therapy needs.

Jonathan is the sole provider for his family and has not been able to work since August 17. The inability to return to work and continuing medical expenses has put a financial strain on the Robinson family. Due to this strain some of the care their children need has had to be discontinued including therapy, medications.

Jonathan is recovering but still has a long road ahead. He now has cardiac issues and is still suffering from lung damage.  We are asking for help to get the Robinson family through the end of the year so that he and  his daughters will get the care they need. Most of the money raised will go to medical expenses, housing expenses, therapy rehabilitation needs, and other medical assistance their daughters have had to suddenly stop. Please consider donating so that our brother can focus on his recovery from COVID-19.

Thank you all in advance for your prayers, love, encouragement, and donations. We are forever grateful!
