A Fresh Start For Jay
Donation protected
Show your gratitude for all Jay’s years of friendship, services, and being that person you can always call, and always trust to keep you safe… even though you know the risks he takes.
But that was then, and this is now.
SUMMARY
We are raising at least $5,000 to help set up a new life following his incarceration. Jay has a new apartment and job - along with two beautiful twin baby daughters - awaiting him when he gets out in a week. We want to raise some starter money to set up his home for his family and provide a safety net for them until he gets his first paycheck. Most importantly, we want to make sure Jay doesn’t have to resort to old businesses to cover these expenses and allow him to keep the girls where they belong - not in “the system,” but with their doting father. The funds will be administered by Jay’s longtime companion and friend, Deanna Theis, to ensure they are used only for these important things.
As he has helped you over the years, please help Jay now, in his moment of need.
THE FULL STORY
Jay is at a crossroads in his life and needs your help so that he can make a fresh start into the next part of his life. He has two beautiful twin baby girls, whom he loves more than anything, and wants to build a new, stable life for and with them. He’s always been a caring person you can trust - and now he’s trusting you to care for him.
As you may know, last year Jay was blessed (if a little surprised) with two beautiful twin baby girls, Emma & Juliana. Like all new parents, they changed his life, and he immediately became a devoted and caring father, doing everything he could to provide for their health, safety, and happiness. Unfortunately, given Jay’s vocation, that led to more risks and, eventually, an arrest in Oklahoma.
Due to some extenuating (but completely non-violent) circumstances, following his arrest, he has been held in jail in Oklahoma since late November, with a bail number that was too high to immediately afford. Unable to return to Dallas, while he was being held in Oklahoma he was evicted from his apartment, forcing his two young ones and their mother out as well.
A small group of his friends have been working hard, to ensure that the children had a good place to stay and kept out of the child protective system, and simultaneously to secure Jay’s release, including donating the funds to pay quality legal representation. Happily, the girls have been in a wonderful stable environment, and now we’re very excited that Jay will be released within this week after nearly two months inside. He still has charges to face, but we have every reason to believe that we will be able to avoid long-term incarceration.
The next step is to help Jay build a new home, find a new career, and fulfill his dream of building a stable life as the father to these beautiful girls - and keeping them out of the foster system which, as you know, can have long-term devastating consequences for young kids and their parents. That’s why we urgently need help from you - his friends, the people he has helped for years, often to get you whatever you wanted or needed. And now Jay needs you.
As his friends, we believe he needs three things to start this new life with his two baby daughters, without having to resort to the old patterns that landed him in trouble:
A home of his own, to raise his girls in a stable place.
A regular job, that provides income and pride.
Money to get himself started, furnishing his small apartment, getting baby essentials, and having a temporary safety net for his new family.
Long-time friends Aimee Hall and Deanna Theis have already done something amazing, securing both an apartment and a new job, both of which will be waiting for him when he gets back. Now we are working on the third and final thing, securing the money he needs to get started - to cover his and the girls' expenses until his first paycheck, and to secure the furniture and supplies to build a new home for his family. And for that, we need your help. To be there for the man who has always been there for you.
In order to do that, we have started a GoFundMe account in an effort to raise $5,000 to help Jay get on his feet and make a fresh start without taking the risks he can no longer afford to take for his family.!

☐ Money to get started - here’s where you can help
—-------------------------------------
USE OF FUNDS
The money raised here will be used to set up Jay’s new family home and cover living expenses for him and his daughters, so he can start his new job and live with dignity until his first paycheck. The funds will be administered by Deanna THEIS, to ensure they are used only for these things, for Jay.
THE PLAN
Given that Jay has had a gambling problem, we are setting up a mechanism to make sure funds are being dispensed and used in a measured way that actually helps Jay get on his feet again. Deanna Theis, his longtime companion, and friend will be in control of the account and will disburse the funds only as she sees appropriate, and Jay stays on the right course towards his new family life. This will include not going back to his old businesses, not gambling, successfully starting his new job, and attending regular Gamblers Anonymous meetings. We have no doubt that he will also be focused on caring for his daughters and keeping them in a safe environment.
This is a rare opportunity to help a good man start a new chapter in his life - as a good father with a good job and a good home. It’s a chance to make a difference. Please donate here, or contact the sponsors of this post for other ways you can help.
IN THANKS OF YOUR SUPPORT
Please help Jay if you can - and he will help you. For those donating at least $250 you will receive a personal thank you note and if you want, an introduction to former colleagues of Jay whom he trusts to provide a similar level of service and care. They can help you with the things he used to and, with this note as an introduction, they’ll know that you’re someone who has Jay’s trust.
