A Frontline Worker's Battle - The Hobbs Family
Donation protected
About 4 years ago, my sister-in-law, Allison Hobbs, had an unexpected seizure resulting in a broken foot as well as revealing that she had a brain tumor. The doctors in Seattle removed most of the tumor at that time during an attempted awake brain surgery and determined that she had a type of brain cancer called an Oligodendroglioma Type II. Her doctors had determined that they would plan for further treatment when it grew back in the years to come.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, Allison, a nurse and mom of two babies under two, found out that the growth had returned. The Monday before Thanksgiving this year (2020) in Philadelphia, PA, Allison had an operation which resulted in most, not all, of the brain tumor being removed. The next steps for her treatment are still in the works but right now her focus is on recovery, getting to a rehab facility, and getting home to her family.
As Allison has been working as a nurse throughout all of the pandemic, her amazing husband Aaron has been home caring for their sweet babies. As if 2020 hasn't been hard enough, brain surgery during the holidays is already a less than ideal situation, especially with an ongoing pandemic where visitation is extremely limited and you are separated from your loved ones.
To try and put yourself in Allison and Aaron's shoes to attempt to get an idea of how they feel going through all of this is near impossible, yet also heart wrenching. Their strength, courage and perseverance through all of this is nothing shy of amazing. The goal of this page is to help alleviate some the stress that the Hobbs Family is taking on by raising funds to help with diapers, wipes, food, or even bills that may come their way.
Every little bit counts and this family will be able to see the impact of your donation no matter how large or small! If you are unable to donate, I only ask that you take a moment and share this link. Let's try and turn this holiday season around for this beautiful family!
