Cancer treatment abroad for Michael Mc Grath
I am so sorry for having to ask for help but I need to put my family before my pride. I hate being a charity case but I hate being sick even more.
I’m Michael Mc Grath, aged 40 from Letterkenny Co. Donegal, new dad, and recently diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. Up until then I was fit and healthy, teaching in Rosary College Crumlin in Dublin, playing/ coaching hurling & football, so naturally the diagnosis was a major shock.
I got married last July to Susan and the proudest day of my life was the day I welcomed my little boy Senán into this world, just three months before my diagnosis. I am swallowing my pride and reaching out to you for their sake, as I want Senán to grow up knowing his father.
Unfortunately the cancer has spread to my abdominal area so surgery is not an option. The standard chemotherapy I am receiving in Ireland is stablising the cancer but not reducing it, and wont.
The money collected will cover a specialised cancer treatment provided in Vienna called immunotherapy, alongside others recommended by the doctors. This treatment plan is my only chance at getting better and seeing Senán grow up, however it comes at a cost.
Please donate what you can, this is potentially life saving treatment for me and my family. No donation is too big or too small.
Thanks in advance for your support, and I will be eternally greatful to one and all.
My son needs his dad.
My wife needs her husband.
Lets fight this terrible disease together.
