Meet Kalyesubula Shadrach
Age: 5
Area Found: Wakiso District, Kakiri Subcounty, Luwunga Village
Language: Luganda
Tribal Origins: Baganda
Shadrach’s young life has been filled with profound challenges. After losing his father to lung cancer, Shadrach was left without a caregiver or source of support. His father, the sole breadwinner, had worked tirelessly to provide for his family. With his passing, Shadrach and his family faced vulnerability and uncertainty.
When Shadrach was three years old, the Baganda Tribal Chief personally brought him to the Ssengooba Foundation, recognizing the urgent need for care and support. This gesture of compassion ensured Shadrach could find safety and hope in the loving environment of the Foundation.
Despite his hardships, Shadrach finds comfort in drawing cartoons and shows great promise as a budding artist. His dream is to become a teacher, inspired by his desire to give back to his community. However, Shadrach faces significant barriers, including difficulty reading, and urgently needs resources to support his growth and education.
Shadrach urgently requires:
Nutritious food and clean water
Clothing and shoes to protect him from the elements.
School supplies to foster his learning and creativity.
Health & Personality: Shadrach exhibits signs of distress and prefers to be alone, often shy and withdrawn. However, his artistic talents shine brightly, and with the right support, he can overcome these challenges and flourish.
