A Garden Grows in Central Islip

Hello. We are fundraising on behalf of the Central Islip Community Garden. We would like to engage the Community in joining us to support the garden for the purpose of feeding our families while also contributing to local Food Pantries. Today many families are faced with “Food Insecurity”. We can help to feed them from our harvest. We currently have a handful of Members who actively work the garden ie.seed, plant, weed, harvest and maintain the grounds, etc. We tend 20 large garden beds. We are currently doing this at our own financial expense. There are many costs to maintaining a garden.
We sought financial support from the Town Of Islip, as the garden is on their property, but none is forthcoming. We as Members serve as the “worker bees” and “sustainers” of the Community Garden (Please view video). We are NOT a Non-Profit. We are simply Members and Neighbors who like to garden and wish to do good. The Garden is in its “10th” year. We would like to keep it going. It is a place where Members can come together and commune with nature and other gardeners in a lovely environment while doing good!.
