My name is Lisa Davis. I would appreciate it if you would consider donating to Braided Manes Equine Rescue. We are in the process of rescuing 41 horses from a "horrific" situation in Toledo, WA.
UPDATE: First, THANK YOU, Thank You, Thank You to all who have helped with this endeavor. To those who have donated, to the volunteers who have given their time, and to those who have made space in their barns, you are all greatly appreciated.
Of the 41 horses that were living on 18 acres in Toledo;
- Four were seized by Lewis County Animal Control. A beautiful Tennessee Walker mare is available for adoption through Lewis County Animal Shelter.
- Two were taken in by the owner's family, along with dogs, cats and other animals.
- Two were humanely euthanized.
- Twenty-nine, so far, have found their forever homes.
- Four are in the care of Braided Manes Equine Rescue and are not yet available for adoption. Please check www.braidedmanesrescue.org for info on adoptable horses.
- The stallions have been removed and gelded. Four have been adopted.
With your help, we hope to provide the care these horses and ponies need and help them move on to a much better life.
